Shrimp & Pork Wonton – Hoanh Thanh Tom Thit

Servings: 50 dumplings
These dumplings are fantastic whether you have them in soup, with egg noodles, or fried up with a sweet and sour sauce for dipping. No matter how you choose to enjoy them, each bite is sure to be a hit!

Ingredients 

Filling:

  • ½ lb ground pork
  • ½ lb shrimp, peeled
  • 1 Tbsp fish sauce
  • ½ cup jicama, minced
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp chives , chopped
  • 1/2 Tbsp corn starch
  • 1 Tbsp mushroom powder

Ingredients:

  • 50 wonton skins
  • kosher salt
  • sesame oil

Instructions

  • Mix all flling ingredients together.
  • Put 1 teaspoon of filling into each wonton skin.
  • Fold wonton skin halfway in the shape of a triangle and bunch the top together to create a pouch.
  • In a pot, boil water with some salt and sesame oil.
  • Cook wontons in boiling water for 3 minutes. You’ll know it’s ready when the wontons float to the surface.
